Smreka is a Bosnian fermented beverage. You simply add juniper berries to water and wait for them to sink. A low ABV, but intensely flavored beverage to get you through the cold. So why not Smreka mead?

This mead is a short (Low ABV) version. I think a juniper flavored mead would be nice around the Christmas tree!

Smreka Short BOMM - 1 gallon
1. Add the following to a carboy:
-1.7 lbs Palmetto honey (malty)
-1 oz dried juniper berries (by weight)
-1 TBSP Fermaid O
-1/8 tsp KHCO3
-Water 1/2 cup shy of 1 gallon. 
-1/2 cup starter of Wyeast 1388. 

This is a fix it and forget it short mead (I hope). When the juniper berries sink, it's ready to bottle.
